The Silver Star Diabetes was established in 2007 by the Rt Hon Keith Vaz. Its first patron was Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan. Silver Star Diabetes has operations in the United Kingdom and has undertaken meaningful projects in India, Bangladesh, Morocco, and Tunisia.
